I am Assistant Professor for Analytical Political Theory at Leibniz Universität Hannover. Prior to that, I was a post-doctoral research fellow at the Mannheim Center for European Social Research (MZES) at the University of Mannheim. I hold a PhD in political science from the Graduate School of Economic and Social Sciences (GESS) at the University of Mannheim.
My research interest is in democratic representation and elections. Most of my research focuses on voting and party competition in spatial terms, on electoral systems and on facets of unequal representation. My regional areas of expertise are Western democracies and specifically the German mixed-member system. My methodological approach combines positive political theory with empirical research.
